An End of an Era for DC Dog Sitting…

When I started DC Dog Sitting at the beginning of my sophomore year of high school, I simply could not have imagined I would still be working my dream job over three years later—and at this scale.

Since its start in October 2021, I have had the privilege of looking after well over 100 dogs and their families across Washington DC. What started as a one-off gig turned into a full time job that I have had the absolute pleasure of having.

As time progresses, I’ve found myself at a completely different stage of my life. After graduating from high school, I decided to take a gap year to further focus on DC Dog Sitting. As this year draws to a close, I have had to make the bittersweet decision to suspend my services for the foreseeable future (effective June 30, 2025). While I am incredibly excited about heading off to college, I will greatly miss the dogs and their families who I’ve gotten to know over the past 3+ years.

While I do not take this decision lightly, unfortunately all good things must eventually come to an end. I am so incredibly grateful for all of the amazing memories I’ll be able to look back on, even as DC Dog Sitting enters my rearview mirror. So thank you, so very much, for your unwavering support—I owe it all to you!

I do hope that sometime in the future I’ll be able to resume working with you and your furry friends. But between now and then, I will remain reachable should you need anything at all.

And if you’d like to stay connected, follow our Instagram for periodic posts and updates.

Until next time,

Jonathan
